Department of Food Hygiene and Technology

Teaching activities

The Department of Food Hygiene, Technology and Safety currently provides education in five Slovak and two English full-time study programmes. These programmes include General Veterinary Medicine, Food Hygiene, Feed and Food Safety, Market and Food Quality, Animal Welfare and Protection, and the joint study programme Animal Science. It also provides teaching of six state examination subjects. Additionally, the department offers the third level of higher education. As part of teaching study subjects, the department gives practical lessons in the laboratories, at the School Agricultural Enterprise in Zemplínska Teplica, and in meat processing and dairy plants, and other food processing plants in the Slovak Republic. The students also do professional practice at the Regional Veterinary and Food Administrations of the Slovak Republic.
