The scope, content and level of education at the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice remain the same. The university makes every effort to provide students with high quality theoretical and practical knowledge and skills.
The reduction of the state subsidy caused problems to all public universities in Slovakia, all the more so to the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice, because its operations are financially demanding due to work with live animals. The UVMP Management has done and is doing its utmost to reduce expenses, but will not reduce the quality of education. By media coverage of the situation, the Management wanted to draw the public’s attention to the current problem. The state is expected of to responsibly address the situation and take into account the uniqueness and social irreplaceability of the university with national and international significance.
The spring semester at UVMP began on February 7th in attendance (in person) and online form. The university is ready to resume full attendance (in person) form as soon as the state’s anti-pandemic measures are loosened. In the new academic year 2022/2023, two new study programmes, Veterinary Nurse and Animal Welfare and Protection, will be added.
