On Monday, February 8, 2021, the spring semester of the academic year 2020/21 began at the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy. In all study programs, teaching is realized in a distance form through MS Teams and Moodle. The summer semester will last until May 7.

Eight study programs are open at UVMP in the academic year 2020/21. The veterinary and pharmaceutical sciences are studied at all three levels of higher education. UVMP is attended by about two thousand students, more than three hundred foreigners, who have the opportunity to study in English.

"The strength of our university has always been a high level of practical training and permanent contact with animals. We have clinics, laboratories, a farm, a clinical skills center. These options are not available now. The reason is a pandemic. We do everything to give students knowledge. We are waiting for at least a partial relaxation of the measures so that we can resume practical clinical and laboratory teaching for small groups of students. Without practical skills, teaching at our university is very difficult," says UVMP Rector Jana Mojžišová.

Due to the coronavirus epidemic, all university staff work from home. An exception is made for those who ensure continuous operation at the University Veterinary Hospital and care for live animals. The university is specific in that it must ensure continuous operation related to live animals. Therefore, he cannot completely close his premises and move all work to his home environment.
