The University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice (UVMP) and Nord universitet have begun preparing the 3rd international joint conference “The Impact of Global Change on the Environment, Human and Animal Health“, which they are planning to organise in June 2023 in Košice. The event is a result of a long-standing partnership and joint efforts of the universities as key societal actors to respond to the difficult challenges faced by the humankind over the last few decades.

The Initiative is funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants. If you want to know more about programmes and projects financed by the EEA and Norway Grants in Slovakia, visit www.eeagrants.sk or www.norwaygrants.sk

The first joint conference on global change, attended by nearly 120 experts from different countries, was organised by the universities in Košice, Slovakia in 2017 with the financial support from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants. Two years later, it was followed by the conference “NordGlobal 2019” in Bodø, Norway, attended also by speakers from UVMP.

For the third time, the conference will return again to Košice and become an international and multidisciplinary platform to share current knowledge, exchange experience, and build partnerships and scientific networks.

The programme of the conference includes the following topics:
1.  Impact of global change on public and animal health - the One Health concept;
2. Impact of global and climate change on the environment,
3.  Impact of global and climate change on water resources and air.
