The Course of Study

The study will take place in July mainly on the premises of the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice (clinics, clinical skills centre, veterinary hospital, laboratories, departments, university pharmacy, medicinal plants garden, university library and publishing centre, equestrian centre, etc.).

CHUVMP takes form of a day camp. The main program consists of lectures and practical exercises led by university teachers. As part of the practical exercises, students will be able to experience what it takes to be a veterinarian, pharmacist or young scientist. Activities are fit for the age of students.

The activities take place between from 8.00 A.M to 4.00 P.M (including a lunch break). Registration of participants takes place on the first day of the Children's University. Upon enrolment, students receive the CHUVMP Guide Brochure with a schedule of lectures and practical exercises, a T-shirt and a cap. At matriculation, students receive a grade book and make a solemn vow. Students are required to wear the T-shirt and the cap with the Children's University logo throughout the event. Students are required to come to classes well in advance. At the end of each lecture or course there is approximately a 10 minutes discussion and at the end the lecturer signs the grade book. Attendance and the final test are requirements for obtaining a diploma. The week-long study at the Children's University ends with a graduation ceremony at which students will be awarded diplomas upon successful completion of their studies. Students of the Children's University can take part in the art competition "Children's University Through the Eyes of Young People" and win great prizes.

CHUVMP students will be provided with boarding (snacks and lunch), drinks and will be supervised by qualified adults.
