Clinic of Ruminants

Scientific research activity

Scientific research of the Clinic of Ruminants is focused at solving the most serious health problems of ruminants on farms in Slovakia. These include, in particular, the area of locomotor and reproductive system disorders, milk gland diseases, dairy production diseases as well as laboratory diagnostics issues. The research is related to extensive expertise and advisory services to agricultural companies including the application of the latest scientific knowledge and the use of modern diagnostics tools for assessing the health disturbances of ruminants.

  • VEGA 1/0107/17: Aetiology, diagnostics, treatment, and prevention of the most frequent claw disease in cattle – digital dermatitis, implementation 2017 – 2020.
  • VEGA 1/0486/17: The usefulness of serum proteins in the diagnosis of health disorders in animals, implementation 2017 – 2020.
  • VEGA 1/0203/15: The use of blood serum proteins in the evaluation of health disorders in dairy cows during the peripartal period, implementation 2015 – 2017.
  • VEGA 1/0154/15: The use of novel diagnostic methods and biomarkers in the evaluation of health disorders of animals, implementation 2015 – 2017.
