Department of Epizootiology, Parasitology and Protection of One Health

Teaching activities

The Department of Epizootiology, Parasitology and Protection of One Health provides teaching of study subjects in the study programmes General Veterinary Medicine, Food Hygiene, Pharmacy, Animal Welfare and Protection, Cynology, Feed and Food Safety, Human-Animal Relationship and its Use in Canistherapy and Hippotherapy, and Veterinary Nurse. The teachers and scientists of the department also act as supervisors for diploma and bachelor's theses. Within postgraduate education, the teaching and scientific staff of the department train doctoral students in both full-time and external forms of PhD study in the study field Infectious Diseases of Animals and Parasitic Diseases of Animals. The Department of Epizootiology, Parasitology and Protection of One Health intensively cooperates with other departments and clinics of the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice, the State Veterinary and Food Administration of the Slovak Republic, the Chamber of Veterinary Surgeons of the Slovak Republic, scientific institutes of the Slovak Academy of Sciences as well as private veterinarians. Within the teaching of study subjects, the department provides practical training in specialized laboratories, agricultural enterprises and School Agricultural Enterprise.
