Instructions for distance form of evaluation of study results

Dear students,

we would like to inform you that in connection with the current situation in connection with the coronavirus infection, the safety and preventive measures that have been taken, and the ongoing distance learning, the UVMP Management approved at its meeting on March 31st 2020 a distance form of evaluation of study results during the summer semester examination period of academic year 2019/2020 through the MOODLE system.

  • Credits will be awarded and recorded to the AIS system based on the criteria determined by the subject guarantor (seminar work, protocol, credit test, oral answer, etc.), who will choose the most suitable electronic form and means for verification of the criteria fulfilment.
  • Regular examinations (including examinations of uncompleted subjects from the winter semester) have to be carried out exclusively in an electronic form, online through the MOODLE system. Dates of the examinations must be properly registered, listed and announced in the AIS in accordance with the valid Study Guidelines of the UVMP in Košice.

In taking the exams, adhere to the following regulations and instructions:

  • First, register for the examination in AIS and choose from the examination dates announced by the subject guarantor.
  • Only after registration in AIS, you can enter the MOODLE system to complete the exam, which will be conducted in writing, online at a specific date and time, i.e. you will only have access to the completion of examination test on a specific date and for a specific period of time. Time of examination is governed by the current time zone in Slovakia, i.e. students who are in a country with a different time zone have to follow the time in Slovakia and have to adapt to it.
  • In accordance with the Study Guidelines of the UVMP in Košice, you are entitled to the regular term, the first retake term and the second retake term, as well as the third exceptional retake term (maximally twice in two years of study), which must be officially requested.
  • The student is obliged to follow his/her number of performed examination terms in the AIS. If the student completes more examination terms in the MOODLE system than he/she is allowed to (i.e. 4 or more), the terms that will exceed the allowed number will not be accepted and the student may be investigated for violation of the Study Guidelines with the consequence of disciplinary action for cheating.
  • The student must be well prepared in advance to technically carry out the exam, get familiar with the work in the MOODLE system and make sure that he/she is able to access and turn on the examination test for a particular subject exactly at a specified date and time. Responsibility for timely connection and failure of connection before or during the exam, etc., lies with the student and cannot be justified.
  • Completion of exams (written) by students with specific needs is based on an agreement between the subject guarantor and the student in accordance with the decision on registration of the student in the evidence of students with specific needs.

Using and accessing the MOODLE system:

We ask for your cooperation and patience and also to strictly follow all the above mentioned instructions, as setting up an access is a process that takes time and at the moment not only registration of university students takes place, but also registration of teachers and individual subjects.

However, we would like to assure you that by the beginning of the examination period in the summer semester, everything will be ready to ensure smooth completion of the examination period.

Thank you.

Best regards

Martin Tomko, DVM, PhD
