Small Animal Clinic

Clinical activities

Clinical activity is provided by pediatric and scientific staff of the Clinic of Small Animals. Clinical activity is also part of the pedagogical process, students are involved in clinical activities during the internship. Under supervision by the Doctor's Office, students undergo basic clinical examination, drug administration, blood collection, and monitor and care for hospitalized patients.

Principles of Providing Clinical Activities:

  • Small Animal Clinic provides diagnostic, therapeutic, preventive and consulting activities for dogs and cats in the field of surgery, orthopedics, oncology, forensic surgery, ophthalmology , neurology, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, internal diseases and reproduction within the meaning of Act no. 39/2007 Coll. and 442/2004 Coll. o Chamber of Veterinarians.
  • This activity is paid according to the internal regulations on economic activity at UVL in Košice. The pricelist is part of these guidelines.
  • Clinic of Small Animals of the University Veterinary Hospital at UVLF v Kosice also provides hospitalization for patients.
  • Clinical activity is routine for daytime and emergency and activity over Saturdays and Sundays and state-recognized holidays nonstop.
  • In urgent cases, this activity may be stopped for a transitional period (disinfection, repair, malfunctions).
  • In time from 15:30 to 08:00 v working days and in time from 9:00 to 08:00 v Saturday, Sunday and feast the activity is considered to be an emergency the clinic usually provides only urgent veterinary work. During this time the owner is charged with a standby surcharge and it follows:
    • During business days in time from 15:30 to 18:00 an extra charge is charged 10 €, in time from 18:00 to 22:00 an extra charge is charged 25 €, from 22:00 to 08:00 on business days and also during weekends an extra charge is charged 40 €,
    • During weekends in time from 9:00 to 12:00 an extra charge is charged 10 €, a in time from 12:00 until 22:00 an extra charge is charged 30 € - a veterinarian is always present at the workplace.
  • Emergency service and night service are not subject to surcharge if the owner arrives for treatment before the end of our working time or standby duty and services that do not exceed 15 minutes after termination of this service. Subsidies as described in points 5 and 6 of these guidelines are then payable.
  • We encourage owners to review the pricelist or to have a preliminary cost for veterinary operations and medicines and medical aids at the veterinarian's pre-treatment.
  • The veterinary surgeon will decide on the emergency of veterinary interventions.
