Instructions for the ongoing teaching in the months of December 2020 – January 2021

INSTRUCTIONS to the further continuation of the teaching process in the academic year 2020/2021

In view of the current development in connection with COVID-19 infection in the Slovak Republic and at the UVMP in Košice, safety and preventive measures taken, we would like to inform you about the conditions under which further continuation of the teaching process will take place:

  1. From December 15th 2020, all forms of teaching by attendance (in person) methods are being cacelled – block teaching process of the 6th year of General Veterinary Medicine study programme in Slovak language, clinical practices at the university clinics of all years of study and study programmes, performance of the practical part of the theses.
  2. If the epidemiological situation allows it, attendance (in person) teaching will be carried out from January 11th 2021 – block teaching process of the 6th year of General Veterinary Medicine (including post BSc.) study programme in English language. Online teaching via MS Teams system for the 6th year of General Veterinary Medicine (including post BSc.) study programme in English language may start from January 4th 2021.
  3. If the epidemiological situation allows it, due to the lack of practical teaching in subjects Clinical Diagnostics (4th year of Food Hygiene study programme) and Propedeutics (4th year of General Veterinary Medicine study programme in English language), teaching of missing practical classes with personal attendance in small groups (max. 5 students at a time) in these subjects is ordered in the period from January 11th to January 22nd 2021. Teaching will take place according to a timetable, which will be prepared by the subject guarantor and which will be sent to the students well in advance.
  4. Students who will attend the teaching of Clinical Diagnostics (4th year of Food Hygiene study programme) and Propedeutics (4th year of General Veterinary Medicine study programme in English language) are allowed to:
    • have an extension of the deadline for achievement of credits from all subjects of the winter semester until February 28th 2021,
    • continue with teaching process in the spring semester without restriction according to the valid schedule of the academic year,
    • perform exams also during the teaching of the spring semester, with the guarantor of the subject being obliged to announce min. one exam date during the months of February to April 2021.
  5. Dates of the state examinations scheduled for January and February 2021 remain unchanged. Form of the state examinations will be online.
  6. Students studying in Slovak language (with the exception of foreign students), who are accommodated in the student dormitories, are obliged to leave the dormitories immediately.
  7. Students who are accommodated in the student dormitories and who are ordered an isolation and quarantine, may leave the dormitories after quarantine ends.
  8. Personal attendance of the teaching, clinical practice or accommodation in the student dormitories are conditional upon providing a negative result of an antigen or PCR test not older than 3 days before the start of the given teaching or practice.
  9. Subject guarantors (or persons authorized by the guarantor) and security staff of the student dormitories are entitled to request to see a certificate of negative result of RT-PCR test or a certificate issued by the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic with a negative antigen test result for COVID-19 not older than 3 days.
  10. Teaching in the summer semester will begin according to the valid schedule of the academic year.
  11. External (part-time) form of teaching process will be carried out according to the valid schedule of the academic year. Form of the teaching will be online.

University reserves the right to make changes in the published instructions according to the current developments of the epidemiological situation in connection with COVID-19 and measures of the Chief Hygienist of the Slovak Republic and the Government of the Slovak Republic.
