VetNEST (Veterinary Network of European Student and Staff Transfer) celebrated this year its 25th anniversary. From 20th to 23rd September 2018 Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje welcomed people from all participated universities. University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice was represented by the rector Prof. Jana Mojžišová, DVM., PhD., Dr. h. c. accompanied by vice-rector for clinical activities Assoc. Prof. Oskar Nagy, DVM., PhD., and with vice-rector for foreign studies Martin Tomko, DVM., PhD. On the occasion of the celebration, former rectors of founding universities were invited, namely University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno, University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna and University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice with the main initiator of the establishment of VetNEST, then rector prof. DVM. Rudolf Cabadaj, CSc.
The main purpose of the meeting was to inform partner universities about changes, that all universities made during last year, and to prepare plan for next year cooperation. The meeting also included a meeting of Exchange Program Coordinators and Partners CEEPUS (Central European Exchange Program for University Studies), which also include UVMP in Kosice. Leaders of universities presented proposals concerning the exchange period of academic year 2018/2019.
VetNEST is the European exchange network of veterinary students and employees, whose main the aim is to support free exchange of students and employees among its participants schools. UVMP in Košice cooperates with VetNEST - mainly with University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno which received nine students of the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice for the academic year 2017/2018.
