On the occasion of the International Day of Students, the President of the Slovak Republic, Andrej Kiska, visited the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice for the first time. The president met with the students and the academic community on 12th November 2018 at the UVMP. The meeting was officially opened by Rector of the University Prof. Jana Mojžišová, DVM., PhD., Dr. h. c. She in her speech welcomed President on the academic ground. The President of the Slovak Republic, Andrej Kiska, talked about his way to success, which often led to various obstacles. He also stressed that UVMP in Košice is, in his opinion, a small miracle by providing high-quality education at international level in the field of veterinary and pharmaceutical education.
The next point of the meeting was a discussion in which students asked questions to the President. The questions related to the subjects of their study programs.
At the end of meeting the Rector of the University prof. Jana Mojžišová thanked the President of the Slovak Republic Andrej Kiska for his visit, which was held on the occasion of the celebration of November 17th as the day of the fight for freedom and democracy.
